OBITUARY.

Brother F[rank]. E. NEWMAN was born in [illegible], Bristol county, Mass., in September, 1855, and died in Wirt, Ringgold county, Iowa, January 20th, 1888. His disease was consumption, and during his sickness he endured at times great suffering. When about five years old he removed with his parents from Seekouk to Attleboro, where in 1880, he was married to Idellia C. RHOADES, and January 29th of the same year he, with his wife started for the west, and came to Ringgold county, Iowa, and resided in Blackmore three years. From that time up to his death he was a respected citizen of Wirt. He was an active member of the Evangelical Association in Wirt.

His remains were laid in the Wirt [Ellston] cemetery. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of people, and took place Sunday, January 22nd. The services were conducted by the writer. The sermon preached from the text, Numbers 23:10, "Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like His."

He leaves a devoted wife, father, step-mother, one brother, two sisters, and many friends, to mourn their loss. --REV. J. WIRTH.

NOTE: Frank E. NEWMAN was thirty-two years old at the time of his death.
