OBITUARY ~ MINNIE (HUTCHCROFT) MYERS
October 05, 1868 ~ November 17, 1949
Minnie Hutchcroft, daughter of John R. and Harriett Hutchcroft, was born October 5, 1868, near Mediapolis, and departed this life
November 17, 1949, after an illness of several years' duration, at the age of 81 years, one month and 12 days.
On March 25, 1881, she was united in marriage
with Lewis Charles Theodore Myers, and to this union were born ten children, of whom nine survive.
After her marriage she and her husband resided near
Sperry. They moved to Kellerton in March, 1891. Early in life she united in membership with the Methodist church of Mediapolis. Her membership was transferred to the
Methodist church in Kellerton in 1916.
She was a kind and loving mother and endured her long and painful suffering with unusual cheerfullness and patiens.
Although she was an invalid for the past several years of her life she was always interested in the welfare and good of others.
Her husband preceded her in
death on October 24, 1924, and a son, Wayne, on July 28, 1941.
She leaves to mourn her departure four sons, Glenn, of Mount Ayr; Lewis, of Kellerton; Harold,
of Lamoni; and William, of Osceola; five daughters, Mrs. Viola Lesan, of Chanute, Kan.; Vergie Myers, of Clarinda; Mrs. Vada Cummings, of Kellerton; Mrs.
Grace Lorimor, of Imogene; and Mrs. Ethel Allen, of Osceola; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Douds, and Mrs. Della Ashby, of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Frank,
Hutchcroft, and Lewis Hutchcroft, Mediapolis; 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the home and from the Kellerton
Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, November 20, at two o'clock, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Harvey, E. Butler. Songs were song by Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Hughes, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Glen Sissel. Casketbearers were Ralph Myers, Hugh Myers, Everett Blake, Dale Brewer, Ted Brewer and Ray
Fonfelder. Interment was in the Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton.
