OBITUARY ~ ROBERT DEAN "BOB" MURPHY

Robert Dean MURPHY was born on May 17, 1941 to Olin and Emma (STILL) MUPRHY at Redding, Iowa. He departed this life on September 19, 2003 at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the age of 62.

Bob grew up in the Redding community and graduated from the Mount Ayr high school in 1959.

On August 22, 1964 he was united in marriage to Beverly HESS in Des Moines, Iowa. Three daughters were born to this union, Robyn, Rhonda and Regina.

Bob served his country in the United States Army for three years. Then while he was in Des Moines, he worked for United Plating and National Tank as well as other places. After returning back to Clearfield, Iowa, he and Janice WILSON ran the can redemption operation out of Clearfield for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Emma; stepmother Gladys MURPHY; grandparents, Asa and Ida MURPHY and Leonard and Mary STILL; and a brother-in-law Tob BARBER.

Left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Robyn MURPHY, Rhonda JORGENSEN and Regina SMITH, all of Des Moines; nine grandchildren: Jamie, Brandi, Kody, Tommy, Jacob, Vincent, Taylor, Justin and Jessie; his companion and caregiver Janice WILSON of Mount Ayr; three brothers, Harold MURPHY and friend Karen PETTIT, Doyle MURPHY, all of Mount Ayr, and Darrell MUPRHY and wife Anna of Des Moines; two sisters, Marlene and husband Bob KELLER of Mount Ayr and Dorothy BARBER of Redding; also many friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2003 at Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr with Reverend Susan THOMAS officiating. Casket bearers were Kyle WILSON, Tommy CRUM Jr., Joshua BAUER, Vincent WHEELER, John David WALKUP and Brian COOK.

Bob was laid to rest in the Redding Cemetary, Redding.
