OBITUARY ~ THEOLA DARLENE (GREENE) LESAN
May 15, 1932 - February 21, 2008

Ceres Courier, Turlock, California
February 27, 2008

Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock for Theola Darlene (Greene) Lesan, 75, of Hughson. She died Feb. 21, 2008 at her home in Samaritan Village following a battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way in Turlock. Burial will be private at Turlock Memorial Park.

Born May 15, 1932 in Grand River, Iowa, Mrs. Lesan grew up on a farm. On August 20, 1950 she married Dick Lesan, her high school sweetheart. This union produced four children, Phyllis, Rick, Randy, and Ken. In January 1960 this young family left the farm and moved to California. They settled in Turlock where she worked alongside her husband in the insurance business, just as she had partnered with him in farming. She was active in Newcomers Club, PTA, and her church. Mrs. Lesan held several offices in various civic groups and the churchs women's groups. She also taught Sunday school for 32 years. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, taking cruises, camping, garage sales, writing poems, and being with friends and family.

She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Dick Lesan of Hughson; her children, Phyllis Lairson and Randy Lesan, both of Turlock, and Ken Lesan of Hughson; two brothers; and 11 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Rick Lesan, and a great-grandson.

Remembrances may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock, CA 95380; or to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
