Margie Mae (STEGGEL) MUNYON was born March 11, 1921 in Fayette county, Iowa to John Walter and Ethlyn Irene (FITZKEE) STEGGEL and went home to heaven April 29, 2002.

Margie was united in marriage to William Donald MUNYON on March 14, 1948 in New Hampton, Iowa. To this union were born two children, Connie Irene and William Gary.

Margie and Don made their home in Kellerton for over 25 years. She enjoyed her family and her great-grandchildren gave her much joy. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and in her early years she enjoyed fishing. She was always busy doing something and was such a good cook, always making sure no one went away hungry.

Margie was baptized n October 9, 2001 at the Trinity Christian Church by Pastor Terry ROBERTS. She enjoyed his visits, reading scripture and his prayers.

Margie wasn't afraid of death, she knew where she was going and was always sharing that the man up above was watching over her. She never complained about her health. She was loved by everyone who met her and was always making a new friend wherever she went.

Those left to mourn are her husband Don of 54 years; daughter Connie and husband Rod SMITH of Kellerton; son Bill and wife Pat MUNYON of Des Moines; ten grandchildren, William and Carrie GODDEN, Angela and Mike MERCER, Eric GODDEN, Jodi and Rich HENSLEY, Scott and Sheila MUNYON, Lonnie and Tish SWIGART, Becky and David NOBLE, Gary MUNYON, Aaron and Nathan MUNYON; thirteen great-grandchildren: Malcom and Mason MERCER, Alyssa and Austin GODDEN, Briana HENSLEY, Heather and Missy MUNYON, Brandon and Jared MUNYON, Brice and Cody SWIGART and Courtney and Kaylee STONE.

Funeral services were held at the Trinity Christian Church near Decatur City on May 2, 2002 with Pastor Terry ROBERTS officiating. Music was provided by Virginia WEBB and Rev. Terry ROBERTS.

Casket bearers were William GODDEN, Scott MUNYON, Lonnie SWIGART, Gary MUNYON, Nathan MUNYON and Aaron MUNYON.

Margie was laid to rest in the Munyon Cemetery near Grand River, Iowa.

Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
