OBITUARY - OPAL MAUDE (OLNEY) MOTSINGER

Opal Maude MOTSINGER was born on October 25, 1916 at Redding, Iowa and passed away at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center in Creston, Iowa on Friday, October 1, 1999 at the age of 82.

She was the daughter of Carl and Maude (ARMSTRONG) OLNEY of Redding and graduated from Redding High School.

Opal was united in marriage with Carroll MOTSINGER on December 22, 1935 in Afton, Iowa.

Opal lived in the Maloy area before moving to Creston in 1958. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for Creston Nursing & Rehab and the Williams Cafe in Creston.

Preceeding her in death were her parents; her husband Carroll in 1990; two children Orval and Marcia; two brothers, Robert and Clifford; and one sister Avis MAUDLIN.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Wade and wife Lavonne MOTSINGER of Waukee; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother Eugene OLNEY of Redding; and two sisters Vera COMBS of Redding and Mary PARKER of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, October 5 at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Barbara ZIMMERMAN, Pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating.

Memorials may be sent to the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center.
