OBITUARY - DOROTHY REXINE (SICKELS) MOSIER

Dorothy Rexine SICKELS was born to Rex and Mildred SICKELS on January 8, 1924, on a farm near Kellerton, Iowa. She passed away on February 14, 1987, after a courageious battle against cancer. As a young woman Dorothy was bapitzed and accepted Jesus as her Saviour.

Dorothy granduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1943. Soon after graduation whe moved to Denver, Colorado where she lived with her uncle and aunt, Roy and Edna SICKELS. She worked during the war years at Buckley Air Field in Denver, then at the First National Bank in Denver. While living with Roy and Edna SICKELS, she met Edna's older brother, Richard E. MOISER, who had just returned from three years in Panama where he was Paymaster for Wunderlich-Oakes Construction Co., who was at that time enlarging the Panama Canal.

Dorothy and Richard "Dick" were married married July 4, 1946 at Hollywood, California. They lived the next several years on the west coast where Dick was Paymaster for the Morrison-Knudson Construction Co. In the early 1950's they returned to Denver where they have since resided.

After Dick's retirement, Dorothy and he ran a day care center for over 20 years. They gave loving care to over 150 children.

Born to Dorothy and Dick were three children, sons, Edward Steven and Terry Rex, and daughter, Susan Christine.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred, in 1978.

She leaves to mourn her passing her father, Rex; step-mother, pearl; husband, Richard; son, Ed and wife Barbara and their children, Paul, Doug, Angela, Jessica and Amy; son Terry and wife Sue; daughter, Susan and husband Dan HANSEN and their children, Mathew, Andrea and Lisa; brothers, John, Sam, and Leland SICKELS; sisters, Belle GUTHLAND, Shirely KARR, Kay MOSIER and Martha PALMER; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held Feb. 18, 1987, at Crown Hill Mortuary. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. Casketbearers were her nephews, Christopher MOSIER, Michael MOSIER, Timothy MOSIER, Jonathan MOSIER, Richard C. MOSIER and Kevin PRESSLEY.
