GLENN C. MORGAN DIES - Shannon City

Glenn C. MORGAN, 91, of Shannon City, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 1984, at the Afton Care Center.

Glenn C. MORGAN was born July 19, 1892, south of Kent, the son of Lewis A. and Etta (LEMAR) MORGAN. On Dec. 16, 1913, he maried Frankie L. PITKIN in Creston. She died July 29, 1983.

He lived in Kent and Gordon, Nebr., where he farmed, before moving to Shannon City in 1935. He operated a service station there before retiring. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mr. MORGAN is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Doris FOLEY of Long Beach, Calif.; three sons, Richard of Liberty, Mo., C. Gene of Franklin N.C., and Dr. Rex L. MORGAN of Sioux City; nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Blanch (Mrs. B. K.) STEARNS of Creston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie; a son, Elton; his parents and a brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Stroud-Linsay Funeral Home in Afton with Rev. John LING officiating. Music was by Patience HASTIE, organist and Don WILSON, vocalist. Pallbearers were Wayne CHEERS, Paul COMER, Clarence EKLUND, Dale HOFFMAN, Gale HOFFMAN and Jim HOFFMAN.

Burial was at Oakland Cemetery at Shannon City.

A memorial has been established to Camp Sunnyside.
