OBITUARY ~ HENRY OLIVER MOORE

Henry Oliver MOORE, son of William and Rosetta JOHNSON MOORE, was born on February 24, 1899 in Tuskeego, Iowa, and departed this life on February 19, 1982 at the Ringgold County Hospital, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 19 days. He spent most of his life in Ringgold County except for a few years in South Dakota.

On March 13, 1919 at Bethany, Missouri, Henry was united in marriage to Hazel Belle WENDELL. They made their home together on several different farms in the Kellerton community. They were married for 45 years until Hazel passed away in 1965.

In October 1969 Henry was married to Bernice RICE in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Henry is preceded n death by his parents, four brothers and sister, Silas, Joseph, Wayne, Walter, and Mertie. He also had two sisters who died in infancy.

In the immediate family he is survived by his wife, Bernice. He is also survived by his one son and daughter-in-law, Hallie and Elma MOORE, Afton, Iowa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Don and Louise CORLL of Mount Ayr, Iowa; Lyle and Wathena NEWMAN of Des Moines, Iowa. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his wife's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 22, 1982, at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn POTTER officiating. The organist was Mike GREENE and the music was by Darlene MORGAN and Edna JONES who sang, "Peace in the Valley" and "Amazing Grace". Casketbearers were Bob MOORE, Brent NEWMAN, Ed NEWMAN, Ron ANDERSON, and Larry RICE.

Interment was in the Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.

The memorial fund was established for the emphaysema foundation.
