FLOYD MOORE DIES - CRESTON
Floyd George MOORE, 90, of 507 N. Cedar St., Creston, died of emphysema at his home on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1988.
He was born July 30, 1897 in Ellson, the son of Charles Benton and Blanche (PIDCOCK) MOORE. On June 23, 1919, he married
Gladys Marie BROWN at Mount Ayr. They farmed in Ellston and Beaconsfield area from 1919 to 1947, the Creston area from
1947 to 1955, and then returned to farm near Ellston. They retired from farming and moved to Creston in 1969.
survived by his wife, Gladys of Creston; a daughter, Berniece CARROLL of Eldon; two sons, Harold R. and wife, Fama MOORE
of Creston, and Donald L. MOORE of Abbeyville, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louisa
KENT of Mount Ayr.
He was preceded in death by a son and wife, Roland and Shirley MOORE; a grandson; and a
brother, C. W. MOORE.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston with
the Rev. Ross O. SHINN, pastor of the Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was at the Tingley Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.

OBITUARY - FLOYD G. MOORE
Floyd G. MOORE, 90, 507 N. Cedar St., Creston, Iowa, died Sunday, January 24, 1988, from emphysema at his home.
Floyd was born July 30, 1897 in Ellson, Iowa, to of Charles Benton and Blanche (PIDCOCK) MOORE. He married
Gladys Marie BROWN June 23, 1919, in Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Floyd and Gladys enjoyed 68 years of wedded life.
They farmed in the Ellston and Beaconsfield area from 1919 to 1947, the Creston area from 1947 to 1955,
and then returned to farm near Ellston until retiring in Creston in 1969.
He was a kind and loving husband
and father, always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys; daughter, Berniece CARROLL of Eldon, Iowa; two sons: Harold B. and wife,
Fama, of Creston, Donald L. and wife, Lola, of Abbeyville, Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren;
and a sister, Louisa Jane KENT of Mount Ayr, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by a son Roland and wife, Shirley MOORE; grandson, Earl MOORE; and a brother, C. W.
Funeral services were held January 27, 1988, at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston, Iowa, conducted by
Rev. Ross O. SHINN.
Music was provided by Donna WOLFE,soloist, who sane Ivory Palaces and In the Garden, and
Geraldine HEESSEL, organist.
Casketbearers were Keith MOORE, Dan FERBER, Tony MOORE, Scott MOORE,
Con CARROLL and Donald l. MOORE, Jr. Burial was in the Tingley Cemetery at Tingley, Iowa.
