OBITUARY - LELAND PORTER "LEE" MOON

Leland Porter MOON was born May 11, 1920 in Ellston, Iowa, and passed away December 1, 1986, in Orlando, Florida.

On March 7, 1942, he was united in marriage to Bernice Marie JACKSON, who preceded him in death on May 23, 1953. He was also preceded in death by his father, Charles M. MOON, on June 25, 1975.

Lee enjoyed his family and friends and was very much involved in Masonic work. At the time of his death, he was secretary of Mokanna Lodge #329 of Orlando. he was also a member of the Consistery, Bahia Temple, Order of the Eastern Star, and on the advisory board for Rainbow. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Martin Marietta, Aerospace Division.

On June 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Wanda CORLL of Manchester, Iowa, and lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until 1960 when they moved to Orlando, Florida.

Lee is survived by his mother, Florence Mae MOON of Council Bluffs; wife, Evelyn, of Orlando; sosn, Stephen and wife, Sandra, of Mount Ayr, IA and Scott of Lorida, Florida; daughter, Sandra of Atlanta, Georgia; brother, Normand and wife Oleta of Omaha, Neb.; and nephew, Charles and wife, Linda and family, of West Germany.

Services were held by Mokanna Lodge #329 December 3, 1986, at Garden Chapel with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

One day I shall experience what true friends have meant to me, what I don't know in words, I wish I could! We all in some way take from and receive from or express some of the best from others. I have been lucky. I've had what most intellects would say the opportunity to steal, learn, collect, feed and use, all these beautiful people. Now how does one pay them in due respect.

My thanks, my most loving thanks, yes, most of all God bless you. Yes, I think this is what we're about.

~ Lee
