OBITUARY - BURL L. MOBLEY

Burl L. MOBLEY, 80, of Benton died June 15, 2004, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy. The Rev. Thomas DOOLEY will officiate the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Maloy. Open visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday with family visitation 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Montgomery St., Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hospice of Central Iowa or Waubonsie Center.

Mr. MOBLEY, son of Maudie May (GARRETT) and Albert MOBLEY, was born August 27, 1923, in Worth County, Mo. He graduated from Maloy High School in 1941. On Jan. 24, 1947, he married Martena VANDERPLYUM in Maloy. He was a farmer and longtime bus driver for Benton and Mount Ayr schools.

Survivors include his wife, Martena MOBLEY of Benton; two sons, Glee (wife Janice) MOBLEY and Ron (wife Sue) MOBLEY, all of Benton; a sister, Hazel LAUGHLIN of Lakewood, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Darlene MOBLEY of Colfax; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Alberta Van WINKLE, brother Denzil MOBLEY and brother-in-law Delmar Van WINKLE.
