OBITUARY - AVIS DARLENE (GAULE) MOBLEY

MITCHELLVILLE, IA Avis Darlene MOBLEY, 80, of Mitchellville, formerly of Colfax, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.

According to her wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held. Memorials may be given in her name to the Make a Wish Foundation. Coburn Funeral Homes in Colfax is handling arrangements.

The daughter of James Henry and Mary Elizabeth (PERKINS) GAULE, she was born October 22, 1926, in rural Diagonal.

She graduated from Clearfield High School in 1943. She married Denzel MOBLEY on January 22, 1947, at the Christian Church in Acthison, Kan. They made their home on a farm in rural Ringgold County west of Mount Ayr for several years. They lived in Grant City, Mo., for awhile, moved to Marshalltown in 1968 and went to work at the Iowa Soldiers Home. She retired from there in 1988. In 1996, she moved to Colfax and resided there until her death.

She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Nioma GAULE of Clearfield, Martina MOBLEY of Benton and Josaphine GAULE of Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; three brothers, Clifford, Lloyd, Earl; and three sisters, Bertha, Mabel and an infant sister, Marie.
