OBITUARY - IVA J. (MAIN) MINNICK

Iva J. MINNICK, daughter of Joseph and Leona TERWILLIGER MAIN, was born December 27, 1905, in Liberty Township, and departed this life March 21, 1987 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, at the age of 81 years, two months and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to Lee F. MINNICK on June 6, 1923, and to this union 10 children were born.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lee; sons, James of Puyallup, Washington, Alan of Trenton, Missouri, Merritt of Fortuna, California, and Dan of Mount Ayr, Iowa; daughters, Phyllis MERCER of Bedford, Iowa, Ailene MERCER of Gladbrook, Iowa, Jean RENO of Downey, California, and Geneva TEMPLETON of Red Oak, Iowa.

She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Sam MAIN of Sylmer, California, Marion MAIN of Mount Ayr, Iowa, and Francis MAIN of Cottage Grove, Oregon; sisters, Bernice JENNINGS of Columbus Junction, Iowa and Avis GAST of Sylmar, California; sisters-in-law, Florence MAIN of Mount Ayr, and Lois MAIN of Hoquiam, Washington, and brother-in-law, Clyde DUGAN of Kirksville, Mo.

She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Victor, age one year and nine months, and Lellan, age 15 years; grandson, Elvin MERCER, age 28 years; brothers, Orville, Adrian and Gordon; sisters, Franchen BEAL and Chloris DUGAN.

Iva's greated joy in life was her family. She was always happiest when surrounded by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved nature, her garden and flowers.

She was a kind, considerate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held March 25, 1987, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home at Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev.Ed KAIL. Music was provided by Mrs. Merrill PERRY, Mrs. Gary BICKERs and Mrs. Roger TRULLINGER.

Casketbearers were Mike RICE, Keith MAIN, Jerry WIMER, Doyle CAMPBELL, Delbert SEVIER, and Lee TERWILLIGER. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
