OBITUARY - EDWARD EMMEL MINNICK
Edward Emmel MINNICK was born November 4, 1928 in Mount Ayr, Iowa to Emmel and Faresta
(HANKS) MINNICK, and passed away March 31, 1988.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1953. He was a
member of the Christian Church. He has lived in Kellerton most of his life where he enjoyed hunting, fishing,
and camping with his family.
He married Darlene BLACK on June 23, 1956. To this union one child was born,
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmel.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene, of
Kellerton; son, Ed and wife, Colleen, of Kellerton; two granddaughters, Kylee and Nicole MINNICK of Kellerton;
his mother, Faresta MINNICK of Kellerton; step-father, Sie RAGAN; one sister, Naomi and husband, Mike
BEEN, of Des Moines; one niece, Melody BEEN of Des Moines; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held April 3, 1988, from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, conducted by
Rev. Merlin WILKINS. Music was provided by Mike GREENE and Mrs. Jim JONES.
Caskebearers were Mike COMER,
Paul WEIGEL, Frank GRIDER, Dick SEALS, Wayne GEORGE and Jessie EMBRY. Honorary pallbearers were Lee COMER
and Larry KNEEDLER. Burial was in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton, Iowa.
Military graveside rites were
conducted by Kellerton Post #676, American Legion.

MOUNT AYR - Edward Emmel MINNICK, 58, of Kellerton, died Thursday, March 31, 1988, at the VA Hospital in
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Merlin WILKINS
will officiate with burial in the Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton. There will be military gravesite rites by the
Kellerton Post. There is open visitation until time of service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Mr. MINNICk was born Nov. 4, 1929, at Mount Ayr to Everett Emmel and Faresta (HANKS) MINNICK. He married
Darlene BLACK June 23, 1956, at Des Moines. He was a road construction worker.
Survivors include his wife,
Darlene of Kellerton; a son, Ed MINNICK of Kellerton; mother, Faresta MINNICK of Kellerton; two granddaughters;
and a sister, Naomi BEEN of Des Moines.
