OBITUARY - MERLE (HOLDRIDGE) MICKAEL

Merle MICKAEL, 68, died August 3, 1988, at the Ringgold County Hospital where she had been hospitalized for several weeks.

She was born in New York State on October 7, 1919. The daughter of Harold and Minnie HOLDRIDGE, she received her education and grew up in New York, later moving to Los Angeles, California where she found employement. Merle married Avery MICKAEL on October 25, 1939 at Yuma, Arizona. They lived in Los Angeles several years before moving to Iowa where they spent the remainder of their life, except winters in Florida.

Merle enjoyed doing fancy handwork and crocheting. She was a homemaker and also clerked part-time at Place's Stores and the Anthony Store in Mount Ayr.

Funeral services were held August 6, 1988 from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home at Mount Ayr, Iowa, conducted by Rev. Phil KINTON. Music was provided by Douglas Greene, Mrs. Gary BICKERS and Mrs. Roger TRULLINGER.

Casketbearers were Jim BROWN, Vivian WELLS, Owen SPENCER, Lyle MINNICK, Edward KNIGHT and Elbert STRANGE. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
