OBITUARY - CLARA IDA (POTTORFF) MICKAEL

Clara Ida POTTORFF, daughter of Charley A. and Ida B. POTTORFF, was born Jan. 14, 1912 at Kingsley, Iowa. She departed this life in her home March 26, 1983, at the age of 71 years, two months and 12 days.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior. She remained active in church all of her life. For the past 28 years she has faithfully attended the Free Methodist church of Mount Ayr.

July 4, 1930, she was united in marriage to Dick MICKAEL. Most all of their married life was spent around Mount Ayr. To this union were born their four children, James MICKAEL of Guilfport, Miss., Arthur MICKAEL of Mount Ayr, Thelma TIPTON of Mount Ayr and Charles MICKAEL of Lakewood, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Clarence and Ralph POTTORFF.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her children, James and wife Jeannett; Arthur and wife Francis; Thelma and husband Herman; Charles and wife Carolyn; her grandchildren, Laura, Jamie, Davidand John MICKAEL, Connie and Junior MICKAEL, Clifford, Richard, Donna and Roger TIPTON, Chuck and Barbara MICKAEL, Carol and John SWAINSTON. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Joshua SWAINSTON and Jennifer TIPTON; a sister, Mary FLETCHALL of Grant City, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Pearl MICKAEL of Kellerton, Myrtle MICKAEL of San Jose, Calif. and Alta TODD of Des Moines; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other loved ones and friends.

Pastor Lewis WICKLINE officiated at her services held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, at the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Music was by organist Philip CAMPBELL and vocalist, Kenny CAMPBELL and Barton SHEILDS.

Casketbearers were her grandsons, John SWAINSTON, Chuck MICHAEL, Jamie MICKAEL, John MICKAEL, Roger TIPTON and Richard TIPTON. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews, Eldon CAMPBELL and Mervin FLETCHALL. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ary.
