Jamie attended the Kellerton Public Schools and was a graduate with the class of 1921.

At the time of his death, he was Financial Secretary of the church and Treasurer of the Methodist Men. As a business man he was associated with his brother Weldon in owning and operating an automobile repair garage. In later years he had a shop in his garage at the home where he repaired small equipment.

Besides a son, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell "Cap" MEADOWS on May 19, 1961, and his wife, Rotha, on July 5, 1961.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Charles MILLEN) and son-in-law, Charles of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Mary STUEVE and Chuck MILLEN of Overland Park, Kansas; one great-grandson, Nathan STUEVE; and brother, Weldon "Ham" MEADOWS of the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. There are other relatives and a host of friends.

A funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 7, 1984 at the Kellerton United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Walter ZARR. Music was by Mrs. Weldon MEADOWS, organist, and Richard JACKSON, soloist.

Casketbearers were Glen SISSEL, Roger O'DELL, LeRoy TRIMBLE, Chester MUNYON, Francis VIRDEN and Francis McDOWELL. Interment was in Maple Row Cemetery at Kellerton
