OBITUARY - MARILYN LOUISE McGRAW

Marilyn Louise McGRAW, daughter of Raymond and Alice (OWENS) McGRAW, was born January 5, 1934 in Westerville, Decatur County, Iowa, and passed away December 14, 1988, in Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 54 years, 11 months and nine days.

She grew up and attended grade school in Westerville and graduated from Grand River High School with the class of 1952. After graduation, she went to Des Moines where she was employed by the Bankers Life Company for several years.

On Novemeber 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Jan C. BOYD at Grand River, Iowa. To this union one son, Shawn Curtis was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1968 she and her son returned to Des Moines where she was again employed by Bankers Life Company until April, 1987 when ill heath forced her to retire to the home of her mother, near Grand River.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Shawn BOYD of Rapid City, South Dakota; her mother, Alice McGRAW; three sisters, Kathleen BURCHETT and husband, Bob; Ramadean SHIELDS and husband, Joe, all of Grand River, and Frances STEPHENSON and husband, Bill of West Hartford, Connecticut; three nephews and two nieces, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Grand River, December 17 at 10:30 a.m. Father Greg LEACH of Osceola officiate at the service. Burial was in the Grand River Cemetery at Grand River [Decatur County, Iowa].
