OBITUARY - ROSETTA "GIGI" McGEHEE of Mount Ayr

Rosetta McGEHEE, 88, of Mount Ayr, died Oct. 3, 2010, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. Services are pending at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - ROSETTA "GIGI" (RUSH) McGEHEE

June 9, 1922 ~ October 3, 2010

Rosetta "Gigi" McGEHEE, 88, of Mount Ayr, passed away on October 3, 2010 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. She was born June 9, 1922 at Mount Ayr, Iowa, the daughter of Mary L. MATTHEWS and Percy RUSH. Rosetta graduated from Mount Ayr High school in 1940. She went onto college for the next two years. Rosetta taught country school prior to her marriage to Wayne McGEHEE on January 25, 1944. They returned to the Mount Ayr area where she worked for over 12 years at the Mount Ayr Community Schools as a cook and later was an operator with the local telephone company.

Rosetta was a member of the First Christian Church; Progressive Couples Sunday School Class; Modern Mothers; and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband Wayne McGEHEE of Mount Ayr; daughter Mary Anne LANE of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Lance (fiancÚ Christina) LANE of Emporia, KS, Christy (Todd) HOFSAESS of Winterset, IA, and Lisa (Todd) CARLSON of New Virginia, IA; great-grandchildren Brandon & Miranda LANE, Olivia & Cadi CARLSON, Colton & Carly HOFSAESS; half-brothers Paul RUSH of Sun Prairie, WI, Bill RUSH of Evanston, IL, Mark RUSH of Loves Park, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Chuck McGEHEE; son-in-law Roger LANE.

A memorial fund has been established to the First Christian Church.

Services were conducted Wednesday, October 6th at 10:00 a.m. from the First Christian Church of Mount Ayr. Interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Wilson-Watson Funeral Home of Mount Ayr was in charge of arrangements.
