OBITUARY - SUSAN KAYE (HOFFMAN) McFARLAND

July 4, 1942 - November 14, 2009

Susan Kaye McFARLAND, after a hard-fought battle with acute leukemia, went to be with her heavenly Father on November 14, 2009.

She was born July 4, 1942, to Marchetta (BRITTAIN) and the late James HOFFMAN at Clarinda, Iowa.

She grew up in Kellerton, Iowa, where she met her lifelong soul mate and husband, Gary McFARLAND. They were married on January 17, 1960.

They were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They relocated to the Port Angeles area over a year ago.

Susan is survived by her husband, Gary; her sons, Krist (Cheryl) McFARLAND and Mark (Catherine) McFARLAND; daughter, Rochelle (Duane) DOWD; 18 grandchildren; her mother and step-father, Marchetta and Don BRITTAIN; sister, Donna McLENDON; and brothers Dennis (Linda) BRITTAIN, and William HOFFMAN.

She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law in Nebraska - Dennis (Becky) McFARFLAND, Joy (Jerry) WINKLEBAUER, Raeleen (David) JUNCK - and her uncle, Jack HOFFMAN, of Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held in Ellensburg on November 20, 2009.

Memorial contributions can be sent to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. No flowers please.
