In March, 1880, he married Miss Hattie ELLIS of Leon, Iowa, to which union four children were born, namely: Gertrude SALTZMAN, Dale, John W., and a boy who died in infancy. Mr. McCORD united with the Christian Church at Davis City in 1882, and from that time has always lived an upright and Christian life.

The deceased leaves a wife and three children, besides a mother, one brother and four sisters, all who mourn for the loss of a beloved husband, father, son and brother. His mother, brother John and sister Belle reside in Inyo County, California. Mrs. A. ASBACH and Mrs. Alonzo MARBEL in Davis City, and Mrs. S. E. NEWMAN in Lamoni, Iowa.

McCORD was conscious to the last and when the Savior called him he was prepared to go. Calling his family to his side, he implored them to always lead an upright and Christian life, and to tell his friends that if he had ever wronged them he wanted their forgiveness. He said all there was in life was health and the happiness derived from living a Christian life. The funeral services were conducted by Elder SWAN of the Christian Church and the remains were laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mt. Ayr.
