OBITUARY - KEITH MAIN

1934 ~ December 27, 2010

Surrounded by his family, Keith MAIN, 77, of Des Moines, Iowa, died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center on December 27, from complications of lung disease.

He will be remembered and missed by his wife, Donna (TEPLY) MAIN of 49 years; children, Linda (Curtis "Cactus" BECK) MAIN and Bruce (Denise) MAIN; granddaughters, Heather and Halie; granddog, Sophie; sister-in-law, Marlene TEPLY of Diagonal, Iowa; nephew, Larry (Pat) TEPLY of Diagonal, Iowa; niece, Cindy (Rick) WOLF of Diagonal, Iowa; great-nieces and nephew, BreAnne (Andy) MELODY of Lake City, Iowa, Trevor WOLF of Forest City, Iowa and Whitney WOLF of Ames, Iowa, and great-great-niece and nephew, Shannon and Aiden MELODY of Lake City, Iowa.

Keith worked for the City of Des Moines as a heavy equipment operator before retiring in 1993 after 33 years of service.

Keith remained active with many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed fishing, the Chicago Cubs and had a fascination with trains. He will be remembered for his gardening skills and the vegetables it produced which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. He was an avid racing fan -- both of Dale EARNHARDT and of Eddyville raceway where his son and granddaughters race.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Florence MAIN; brother, Paul MAIN, and brother-in-law, Dick TEPLY.

A memorial visitation was held Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
