OBITUARY - MARY EVALINE (HALL) MACKEY

Mary Evaline MACKEY of Lamoni, Iowa, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 1982 at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 29 days at the Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. Mary was born Sept. 30, 1895 in Ringgold County at Benton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Samuel Stuart and Sarah Jane (HUTCHISON) HALL.

At an eary age she became a member of the Benton Christian Church and belonged to the Rebekah Lodge at Benton. On March 6, 1922 she was united in marriage to Clyde MACKEY of Kellerton at Leon, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde, and one son, Raymond of Clearfield; four grandchildren: Mary Helen and husband, Ken COCHRAN, of Des Moines, Richard and wife, Barbara MACKEY, of Diagonal, Ronald and Randall MACKEY of Delphos; great-grandchildren, Danny ANDREW, David COCHRAN, Robert Forest, John Richard and Justin Drew MACKEY; one brother, Samuel Glenn of Rockford, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Grace HART of Carter Lake; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Robert Forest MACKEY; five brothers; three sisters-in-law; and seven brothers-in-law.

Mrs. MACKEY lived all her life in Ringgold, Taylor and Decatur Counties. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and always found time for her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her garden and many flowers.

Mr. and Mrs. MACKEY observed their 60th wedding anniversary March 6, 1982.

Rev. Norman NOBLE officiated at the service held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1 at Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Music was by organist, Mike GREENE, and vocalists, Mrs. Jim JONES and Mrs. Robert FISHER.

Casketbearers were Leo LANE, Bufford HALL, Ronald MACKEY, Richard MACKEY, Randall MACKEY and Kenneth COCHRAN. Burial was in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, Iowa.
