OBITUARY - WILLIAM "ELLIS" LYNCH, Sr.

William was born May 24, 1904, Allendale, Worth County, Missouri, the son of Obediah Waters LYNCH and Arabelle GRINDSTAFF LYNCH. Ellis, as he was called, married Dorothy Madeline FULLER and became the parents of 4 children. They settled in Colorado for a few years, near other relatives. After they divorced, Ellis returned to Worth County, MO to live and operate his trucking business, a profession his two sons entered into and developed a passion for. He loved the freedom of the open road. His fellow truckers, truck stop and cafe employees along the highway were his "family" while he was on the road. He was surrounded by a large, loving family of sons, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews while at home in Worth County.

He was preceded in death by son, Kevin; four brothers Curt, Eddie, J. O., Jesse, two sisters Alma THOMPSON and Juanita WILSON.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth LaVelle LYNCH of Redding, IA and William Ellis LYNCH, Jr. of Grant City, MO; daughter Eddyce LYNCH MUELLER of Palo Alto, CA; two sisters Inez FISHER of Mount Ayr, IA and Berniece ALLEN of Des Moines, IA.

He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him.

Interment was in Redding Cemetery, Redding, Iowa.

Transciption by Sharon R. Becker, February of 2010
