OBITUARY - LAVETTA ILENE (OVERMAN) LYNCH

Lavetta Ilene LYNCH was born on October 5, 1921 to John Quincy Overman and Montana (RUSH) OVERMAN at Parnell, Missouri. She departed this life on April 22, 2008 at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.

When Lavetta was 4 years old she moved with her parents, four brothers, and one sister to the Redding vicinity where she lived for 83 years. She graduated from Redding High School with the class of 1939. On May 8, 1944 she was united in marriage to William Riley LYNCH. In 1947, Bill and Lavetta purchased land near the Middle Fork Church where they built a house and set about raising their family. Four children were born to this union: Michael Douglas, Patricia Louise, Pamela Jo and William Joseph. In 1981 Bill and Lavetta moved to their current home in Redding where she lived until her death.

Lavetta was a member of the Redding United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW. She was also a member of the Redding Thimble Club. The Redding community was very important to her where she had so many wonderful neighbors and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband Bill and her daughter Pat MAUDLIN.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Mike LYNCH and wife Ruth of Redding, Iowa, Pam GLENN and husband Keenan of Kansas City, Mo., Bill LYNCH and wife Deb of Redding, Iowa; grandchildren Randy GLENN and wife Kelly, Jessica GLENN, Paul MAUDLIN, Amanda LYNCH, Molly LYNCH, Zach LYNCH, and Taylor LYNCH; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2008 from United Methodist Church of Redding, Iowa. Interment at Redding Cemetery.
