OBITUARY - CAROLINA CHARLOTTE (LENTZ) LOCKWOOD

Carolina Charlotte LENTZ, the daughter of Jacob and Jane LENTZ, was born near Woodland town, on September 28, 1856 and passed away at her home Monday, October 12, 1942, at the age of 86 years and fourteen days.

On December 25, 1878, she was united in marriage to John Quincy LOCKWOOD of Whiting, Vermont, who died June 20, 1929. To that union were born four children, Mrs. Clara SMITH, who preceded them in death; Jacob Harvey of Diagonal, Iowa; John Quincy, Jr., and Mrs. Alta PETTY, of Woodland. She was one of eleven children. One brother and six sisters have passed on. Those living are Harty LENTA of Lambert, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mary GAMMON of Derby and Mrs. Clara PATTON of Woodland.

She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, two sons, twenty-two grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and a host of relatives and friends.

During her sickness she was such a patient sufferer. All that loving hands and medical science could do was done but of no avail. She was a devoted mother, a good neighbor and a faithful friend.

Funeral services were held at the Woodland church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. A. V. HART. Burial was at Lineville.
