OBITUARY - RONALD MAX LAMB
Angels welcomed Ronald M. LAMB to Heaven on Friday, June 11, 2010, where we are certain that he went right to work on
improvements and perfections, making sure everything is in order for those there and those who will join him. He was 74.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Ambrose Cathedral, 607 High Street,
Des Moines. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m., Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, IA.
Ron was born March 4, 1936, the middle child of Loren and Ruth LAMB in Mount Ayr, IA. Shortly after high school, Ron
joined the U.S. Navy and married Dena BOHAM. Together with their two sons, Bryan and Mark, they lived in Hawaii and
California, before returning to Iowa.
After working in the grocery business for several years, Ron joined Casey's General Stores in 1970, as a store manager.
Hard work and dedication to the company provided an opportunity for Ron to climb thru the ranks of upper management
positions, finally becoming chief executive officer, president of the company and most recently he was Chairman of the
Board of Directors.
After the death of his wife Dena, Ron married Marjorie O'BRIEN and extended his family to include step-children, John
O'BRIEN and Renee WELDON. In addition there are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ron truly loved being with people and helping them in many ways. Thru out his lifetime his presence has blessed many
people and he left this world a better place. Ron enjoyed life fully. He was a good golfer, enjoyed fishing, hunting and
a good card game with friends. He was a great host and his smile was warm and welcome. During his career he enjoyed world
wide travel and kept very busy and active with family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas; his first wife, Dena; a son, Mark, and his parents, Loren and Ruth.
He is survived by his wife Marge; son, Bryan (Annie) LAMB; step-son, John (Christine) O'BRIEN; step-daughter, Renee (Tom)
WELDON; brother, Larry (Sandy) LAMB; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other extended family members and a
host of friends.

7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
Ron's family would like to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Tom BUROKER, his staff and the oncology staff on the 3rd
