The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1926

OBITUARY - MRS. JENNIE LAMB.

Jennie ROBINSON was born near Peoria, Illinois. With her mother, brothers and sisters she came to Ringgold county and settled on a farm in Monroe township about two and one-half miles southeast of Beaconsfield where she remained until she was united in marriage to David LAMB in 1892. On December 12, 1900, he was called to the great beyond while they were residents of Denver, Missouri.

Later she moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa, where she resided until her mother's death in 1909, when she moved to Des Moines. At the time of her death she was making her home with her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth JOHNSTON. She had been an employee of Younker Brother's store for several years and it was while in their employ that she met with her untimely death. In girlhood she became a member of the Methodist church of Beaconsfield and later removed her membership to Mount Ayr where it still remains. She was of a generous and kind disposition, a good neighbor and practical christian.

She was a member of long standing of Rebekah lodge No. 520 of Mount Ayr.

Her brother, William, preceded her in death on July 6, 1915; her brother, Thomas, on June 7th, 1925. She leaves to mourn her death one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth JOHNSTON, of Des Moines; two nephews, five nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. LAMB were held at the Methodist church in Mount Ayr Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
