OBITUARY ~ DONALD EUGENE KNIGHT

Donald Eugene KNIGHT, son of Donald Lewis and Viola Dell THURMAN KNIGHT, was born January 6, 1954, in Worth County, Missouri, and departed this life July 30, 1995 at his home in Eagleville, Missouri.

At a young age, Donnie accepted Christ and was baptized. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Light, No. 257 A.F. and A.M. of Eagleville and served on the Eagleville Fire Department for approximately 18 years.

Donnie was employed as a Class B Water operator; currently working for Public Water District No. 2. He worked for many years as Eagleville and Blythedale water district manager. He had served on the Eagleville Town Council and the North Harrison Ambulance Board.

He was united in marriage to Lutricia Coleen SMITH on May 22, 1976. To this union two daughters were born, Stephanie Erin and Kimberly Diane. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lutricia, and his daughters, Stephanie and Kimberly. Also surviving him are two brothers, James of Bethany and David of the State of Delaware, as well as a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister, Wanda.

His hobbies were hunting and fishing, which he enjoyed doing with his family and friends. He was much loved by his family and all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 1, at Roberson-Polley Funeral Home in Bethany, MO, and burial was in the Miriam Cemetery in Bethany, MO.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones,
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh, but Jesus' love illumed
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth. . .
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
