OBITUARY ~ JULIA BEA (SHEUMAKER) KLANG

Julia Bea KLANG, 79, Kerney, Missouri, died September 17, 2007 at her home. Funeral services were Friday, September 21, at HOSANNA! Lutheran Church. Burial was Saturday, September 22, at Essex Cemetery, Essex, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to HOSANNA! Lutheran CHurch, 2800 A Highway North, Liberty, MO 64068.

Julia was born April 16, 1928 in Ringgold county, iowa, the eighth of 10 children, to Roy and Goldia (SPENCER) SHEUMAKER. She graduated from Central Missouri State University. On November 28, 1948, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, she married Floyd Gilbert KLANG.

Julia was a very active member of HOSANNA! Lutheran Church, where she and Floyd were charter members. She retired as a librarian from Excelsior Springs Middle School.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd KLANG; two brothers, Roy SHEUMAKER and Tom SHEUMAKER, and a sister, Bernice ABARR.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie SUMMERS and husband Don of Liberty, Misouri, and Laru WOODY and husband Fred of Austin, Texas; son, Eric KLANG of Cary, North Carolina; four sisters, Frances SALTZMAN of Mount Ayr, Iowa, Eunice JONES of Grant City, Missouri, Liz THOMAS of Des Moines, Iowa, and Margaret WOOD of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers, Clinton SHEUMAKER of Glastone, Missouri and John SHEUMAKER of Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Joshua SUMMERS and wife Cheryl, Jacob SUMMERS, Katrina TUCKER and husband David, Luke WOODY, Logan WOODY, Carl WOODY, Evan WOODY, Karla KLANG and Melinda KLANG and six great-granddaughters, Annika, Julia and Ericka SUMMERS and Jael, Tekla and Saoirse TUCKER.
