DEATHS ~ MRS. G. M. JONES

Hepzibah W. DAVIDSON was born near LaGrange, Ind., April 22, 1841. Died at her home in Belleville, Kans., March 18, 1919. at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 26 days. She moved to Illinois in 1854 and there grew to womanhood and was married to Gabriel M[arion]. JONES. Her marriage took place during the Civil War, October 1, 1863.

They moved to [Ringgold County] Iowa in 1875 and lived there for eight years. In 1883 they settled on a farm west of Rydal [KS]. They have lived in Belleville since 1900.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. JONES, three of them dying in infancy. Another daughter, Mrs. Lola BRADLEY, died two years ago and another, Mrs. Cora JOHNSON, only last week. The husband, a brother and sister in Illinois and a sister in Hutchinson, Kans., three daughters and nineteen grand-children survive her going. The daughters are Mrs. May ELLIOTT and Mrs. Grace MITCHELL of Scandia and Nellie JONES of Belleville. Two of the grandsons are in France in the service of their country.

Mrs. JONES united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Scandia in 1887. She was an invalid for several years but bore her afflictions with patience and christian fortitude and an uncomplaining spirit. She will be missed by many friends as well as her own loved ones.

Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

NOTE: Interment at Belleville City Cemetery, Belleville, Kansas.
