OBITUARY ~ LOYD H. HUDSON

Loyd H. HUDSON, 75, of Bloomington, Indiana died Friday, May 16, 2003 at a Bloomington, Indiana hospital.

Born November 24, 1927 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, he was the son of Walter H. and Alice H. (HARDEN) HUDSON.

He was a music teacher. He had worked at Texas Luternan College in Seguin, Texas, the University Northern Carolina at Wilmington and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He retired from the Indiana University School of Chemistry business office.

He received at bachelor of music and music education from Drake Univeristy, a master's degree in music from Indiana University and a doctorate in music education from Indiana University.

He was a long time members of the Bloomington First United Methodist Church Chancel Choir and had directed the Crossroads Methodist Church choir.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Gaye (NEWBER) HUDSON of Bloomington; four daughters, Virginia MILLIKIN and her husband, Bill, of Richmond, Virginia, Connie HUNEYCUTT ahd her husband, Johnny, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, and Emily HUDSON and Meredith HUDSON, both of Bloomington; two sons, David HUDSON and his wife, Pam, of Knoxville, Tennessee and Daniel HUDSON Of Bloomington; one sister, Janet HICKMAN and husband, Lowell, of Mount Ayr, Iowa; six grandchildren; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services were held Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Bloomington with the Rev. Joe EMERSON officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
