Former Ringgold Women Killed
MOUNT AYR - Mrs. Donald (Myrtle May) HUDSON, 56, and her mother, Mrs. Ella RICHARDSON, 86, former residents of the Redding
vicinity in Ringgold county, were killed in an automobile accident 11 miles south of Lebanon, Tenn., Sunday.
The two women, who lived at Waterloo, were in a car driven by Mrs. HUDSON'S husband. They were on the way from Atlanta,
Ga., where they had visited at the home of his sister, to Bloomington, Ind., to visit at the home of his brother.
According to reports received here, a car veered into the lane in which HUDSON was driving, causing him to lose control
of the car which rolled over.
Mrs. HUDSON died before reaching a hospital and Mrs. RICHARDSON died later at the
hospital. HUDSON suffered only minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
Mrs. RICHARDSON had lived in the Redding
vicinity for many years before moving to Waterloo to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. HUDSON
grew up and attended school at Redding.
The bodies of the two women are to be flown to Waterloo today. Funeral
arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. HUDSON'S body will be buried at Waterloo. Mrs. RICHARDSON'S body is to be buried
Mrs. RICHARDSON is survived by a son, Weldon RICHARDSON of Waterloo, and a number of nieces and
nephews. Mrs. HUDSON is survived by her husband and brother.

Double funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Mrs. Ella RICHARDSON, 83, and her
daughter, Mrs. Donald HUDSON, 58, both of 706 Kern St., who were killed in an automobile accident 10 miles South of
Lebanon, Tenn., Sunday afternoon. Dr. C. H. PATTERSON, retired Methodist minister, will officiate. Friends may call
at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial for Mrs. HUDSON will be in Fairview Cemetery [Waterloo.]
Addition services for Mrs. RICHARDSON will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Rhoades Funeral Home in Mount
Ayr. Rev. Gerald SWINTON, pastor of Mount Ayr United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in The Redding
Mrs. Ella RICHARDSON was born in Delphos Oct. 2, 1886, the daughter of Stacey and Belle BAUM
STEPHENS. She was married to John O. RICHARDSON in 1908 in Delphos, living there until 1952 when she moved to
Waterloo. She was a member of the Delphos Baptist Church.
Mrs. RICHARDSON is survived by one son, M. Weldon
RICHARDSON of 303 W. Dale St. [Waterloo]; two brothers, T. J. STEPHENS of Mt. Ayr, Clarence STEPHENS of Delphos;
and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Mrs. HUDSON, two sisters and
Mrs. Donald HUDSON (Myrtle May) was born in Redding, the daughter of John and Ella STEPHENS RICHARDSON,
on Oct. 16, 1911. She was graduated from Delphos High School and also the Chicago School of Swedish Massage. She was
married to Donald HUDSON Jan. 11, 1934, in Grant City, Mo. Mrs. HUDSON was a massage therapist in her home where
she and her husband were owners of HUSDON'S Health Service. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the
American Massage and Therapy Association.
She is survived by her husband and one brother, M. Weldon RICHARDSON of
303 W. Dale St. [Waterloo]. She was preceded in death by her father in 1943.
