OBITUARY ~ CHARLES EDWARD "ED" HALEY
November 23, 1939 ~ May 27, 2012
Charles Edward HALEY, better known as Ed, Chuck and Charlie, was born November 23, 1939 in Ringgold County, Iowa to
George & June HALEY.
Chuck started his own family at an early age. He fathered three children, Calvin, Kelly, and Laverne (who died shortly
after birth). He lived much of his early years living and working in Colorado. Many of his years there were spent
working on a dairy farm which he enjoyed very much. Later, he and his family moved "back home" to Iowa. He spent a
good portion of his life driving a truck for a living. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
Ed passed away May 28, 2012 in his sleep while battling cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant
Survivors include his children Calvin HALEY & wife Deb of Clarinda, IA and Kelly FLETCHER & husband Ron of Villisca,
IA; grandchildren Jesse FLETCHER & wife Jasmine of Villisca, Desiree BURCH & husband Jerome (JP) of Clarinda, Stuart
HALEY & fiancÚ Dakota WEAVER of Villisca, John FLETCHER of Villisca, Brandon HALEY & fiancÚ Tamara KIBBE of Greenfield,
and Tamra HALEY & friend Hugo CRUZ of Clarinda; great-grandchildren Shane, Lilly, Frankie, Eliza, Landon, and Niya;
three brothers Tom HALEY & wife Pat, Darrell HALEY, and Dennis HALEY; a VERY special friend Bev; four special ladies
that he drank coffee with Rose, Pat, Gladsen, and Rhonda; GREAT friends Jim MOSSES and the CARLSON family; many
cousins and other relatives.
A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of
Mount Ayr, Iowa, with Pastor Edwawrd SHIELDS officiating. Casketbearers were Jesse FLETCHER, Desiree BRUCH, Stuart
HALEY, Brandon HALEY, Tamra HALEY and John FLETCHER.
Military rites were provided by the Iowa Honor Guard Unite with burial in the Marshalltown Cemetery near Benton, Iowa.
The Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
