OBITUARY ~ LARRY LEE HAFFNER
January 03, 1937 ~ May 01, 2014

Larry Lee Haffner, son of Norvell Forrest & Verna Belle (West) Haffner, was born January 3, 1937 at Muncie, Indiana.

Larry grew up at Muncie and serviced his country in the U.S. Navy. Larry was a truck driver and drove for 33 years; most of that time he drove a truck for Smith Trucking of Worthington, Minnesota. Larry drove a million plus miles and earned certificates for his achievements.

On April 5, 1974, he married Mary Anna (Dickison) in Dickens, Iowa. They lived in the Hartley and Spencer area before moving to Clearfield four years ago.

Larry enjoyed fishing and loved to hunt with his boys. He enjoyed spending time with the family and had a talent for being ornery and teasing them. Larry enjoyed drinking beer and smoking cigarettes.

Larry passed away at his home in Clearfield with his family by his side on May 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson and two great grandsons; and a brother Mike Noble.

Those left to cherish and share in his memory include his wife Mary Haffner of Clearfield, IA; children Mary Christopherson of Clearfield, Iowa, Deborah England of DeKalbe, Texas, Susan Sauter of Lenox, Iowa, Jeffrey Strohman of Pace, Florida, James Strohman of Prescott, Iowa, and Keith Strohman of Peterson, Iowa; over 20 grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren; a brother Bob Haffner of Double Springs, Alabama; sisters Verna Sue Noble of Muncie, Indiana and Jackie Stevenson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later.

A Celebration of Life was held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7:00 P.M., at Robbie and Katie Larsen's home, Diagonal, Iowa.
