OBITUARY - MARY FRANCES (BROWN) SCHROEDER KRUEGER

Mary Frances KRUEGER, 85, of Creston died January 4, 2005, at Creston Nursing and Rehabilitation

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Keith SCHWEITZER will officiate the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at Creston. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. Memorials may be directed to Hospice and Trinity Preschool.

Mrs. KRUEGER, daughter of Elizabeth Mary (BOHAM) and Warren Guy BROWN, was born September 2, 1920, in Carbon. She graduated from Villisca High School in 1938.

On March 7, 1940, she married Henry C. SCHROEDER in Villisca. They lived on a farm near Nodaway and Villisca for 12 years, then moved to Creston. She was a homemaker.

On February 16, 1980, she married Bernard KRUEGER in Creston. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she has served as Lutheran Women's Missionary League (L.W.M.L.) secretary, treasurer and chairman. She was also active in the church choir, Greater Regional Medical Center (Greater Community Hospital) Auxiliary and Federated Garden Club.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard B. KRUEGER of Creston; two daughters, Fran (husband Jack) BAKERINK of Creston and Janice CUSTER of Topeka, Kan.; two sons, Norman (wife Linda) SCHROEDER of Creston and Duane (wife Deanna) SCHROEDER of Topeka, Kan.; three stepchildren, Pat (husband Duane) MORRISON of Casey, Don (wife Sydra) KRUEGER of Bay City, Mich., and Judy (husband Robert) LINN of Mount Ayr; two brothers, Wesley BROWN of Monett, Mo., and Warren BROWN of Clarinda; two sisters, Marjorie BARNES of Clarinda and Verda (husband Tom) ENGLAND of Kent, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and first husband in 1972.
