OBITUARY - ALLAN "UNCLE BUD" KINNEY
Allan "Uncle Bud" KINNEY, 59, of Plattsmouth, Neb., formerly of Tingley and Mount Ayr, died November 28, 2005, at Ringgold
County Hospital in Mount Ayr.
Memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, at Tingley Community
Building. A memorial has been established in his name. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount
Ayr, has charge of arrangements.
Mr. KINNEY, son of Helen Marie (HENDERSON) and Clark James KINNEY, was born February 26,
1946. He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1965. In April 1967, he married Janis SOBOTKA. In May 1978, he married
Susan VANDERPLYUM. He was employed as a diesel engineering mechanic.
Survivors include three daughters, Cassie KINNEY (fiancÚ Ron JACOBSON) of Des Moines, Beth KINNEY of Spirit Lake and
Renante KINNEY (fiancÚ Todd BOLES) of Mount Ayr; sister Sharon (husband Duane) GLICK of Mount Ayr; significant other
Jeannette BUELL of Plattsmouth, Neb.; three grandsons, Cody and Cole NORTON and Soyer WIMER of Creston; nephew Kevin
(special friend Debbie) GLICK of Creston and niece Kris GLICK of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandmother Julia HENDERSON and stepfather Owen SPENCER.

OBITUARY ~ ALLAN EARL "BUD" KINNEY
Allan Earl KINNEY was born February 26, 1946 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa to Clark James and
Helen Marie (HENDERSON) KINNEY. He departed this life on November 28, 2005 at the Ringgold County Hospital in
Mount Ayr, Iowa.
Bud, as he was fondly known, attended school at Tingley, Kellerton and Mount Ayr, all in Iowa,
graduating in 1965. After graduation and the death of his father, he attended US Trade School in Kansas City,
Missouri where he became a diesel engineer. Later he worked for Kenworth Trucking in Des Moines, Iowa.
In April 1967
he married Janis SOBOTKA. To this union were born Cassie Nicole and Elizabeth Jane. Later they divorced and he married
Susan VANDERPLYUM HOLMES in May 1978. Renaate Suzanne was born to this union. During this time he worked for Bill SICKELS
and Hank SMITH. His love for racing began in high school and this never changed. He attended races far and wide and much
of that time was spent in the pit area. Even up to the present time, Sunday afternoons were set aside for "watching
In recent years Bud and his friend (Jeannette) of 22 years lived in Des Moines, Iowa, Springfield,
Missouri and Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Failing eyesight caused an early retirement. Due to this fact he had time on
his hands, much of that time was spent with his nephew, Kevin GLICK. They were great friends, pals and coworkers at Service
Tech in Creston. To all the customers there, he became known as "Uncle Bud."
Bud was preceded in death by his father
Clark, grandmother Julia HENDERSON and step-father Owen SPENCER.
Left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Cassie KINNEY
and fiance Ron JACOBSON of Des Moines, Iowa, Beth KINNEY of Spirit Lake, Iowa nd Renated KINNEY and fiance Todd
BOLES of Mount Ayr, Iowa; his grandsons, Cody and Cole NORTON of Spirit Lake, Iowa and Soyer WIMER of Mount Ayr, Iowa; mother
Helen SPENCER of Mount Ayr, Iowa; sister Sharon GLICK and husband Duane of Mount Ayr, Iowa; niece Kris GLICK of Nevada,
Iowa; nephew Kevin GLICK and special friend Debbie of Creston, Iowa; and significant other Jeannette BUELL of Plattsmouth,
Bud was a great conversationalist, never met a stranger, friend to all who met him and always willing to
help those in need. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
