OBITUARY - KENNETH I. KIBURZ

Kenneth I. KIBURZ, age 71, of Tingley, Iowa, died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born July 27, 1930, in Tingley, the son of Isaac and Gladys (BOLLER) KIBURZ. He graduated from Tingley high school and then received a B. A. from Iowa State University in agriculture.

On April 15, 1995 he married Gloria JERMIER in Farmington, Missouri.

He owned and operated the Kiburz Seed Company in Afton, Iowa for over 30 years. He also continued owning various businesses as well as farming in Union county on the Double K Ranch. He taught vocational agriculture in Rolfe and Newell, Iowa.

He attended the Afton Assembly of God Church for over 30 years and was a member of the Southern Iowa Angus Association. He served in the U.S. Navy for three years during the Korean Conflict from August 24, 1952 until March 21, 1954.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria KIBURZ of Tingley; four daughters, Sheryl (husband Dave) DeLOACH of Fenton, Missouri, Kathy (husband John) GRETTENBERG of Coon Rapids, Iowa, Anita WILLIAMS of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Kolleen (husband Darren) KIBURZ-LOVELL of Fort Worth, Texas; four sons, Kim (wife Debra) KIBURZ of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kurt (wife Amy) KIBURZ of Afton, Iowa, Kent (wife Melissa) KIBURZ of Winterset, Iowa and Kevin KIBURZ of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother, John (wife Barbara) KIBURZ of Tingley; and 17 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Afton Assembly of God Church with Pastor William RICHARDSON officiating. Military rites were conducted by the John B. Parks V.F.W. Post #8882 of Afton. Interment was in the Tingley Cemetery, Tingley.

Memorials may be given to the Afton Assembly of God Church.

Powers Funeral Home of Afton was in charge of the arrangements.
