OBITUARY - HENRY DOUGLAS KEPPLE.

Kepple gravestone.jpg Henry Douglas KEPPLE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie KEPPLE, was born December 29, 1860, near Drakesville, Iowa, and departed this life at the home of his son, Lesley (sic) KEPPLE, near Beaconsfield May 7, 1931, at the age of 70 years, four months and nine days.

In 1884 on December 3rd, he was united in marriage to Lizzie M. BATES. To this union were born two children, Goldie Amanda JACKSON, she preceding her father in death October 24, 1918, Lesley KEPPLE of near Beaconsfield, Iowa.

His wife also preceded him in death about ten years ago.

Early in life he was convinced of his need of a savior at this time he opened his heart, inviting the Savior to come in. He coming within has been a constant companion all through life even to his death. He waited patiently for the time to come when he could go to a better home ever to be with Christ.

He leaves to mourn his going one son Lesley (sic) and family, two grandchildren, Leroy JACKSON of Illinois and Cecil JACKSON of Kellerton, Iowa, two brothers, J. W. KEPPLE of Chetopa, Kan., and Charlie KEPPLE of Galesburg, Ill., besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the home of his son, Lesley (sic) KEPPLE, Saturday, May 9, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the pastor of Beaconsfield Methodist church, after which interment was made in the Kellerton [Maple Row] cemetery.

We wish to thank our many friends and neighbors for their acts of kindness, words of sympathy, also the beautiful floral offering during the recent sickness and death of our father.

NOTE: Elizabeth M. "Lizzie" (BATES), wife of Henry Douglas KEPPLE, was born in 1862, and died in 1921. Leslie D., son of Henry Douglas and Lizzie M. (BATES) KEPPLE, was born in 1890, and died in 1947. Ruth E., wife of Leslie D. KEPPLE was born in 1901, and died in 1956. They were interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
