OBITUARY - T. E. KEITH.

Trefeathern Ellsworth KEITH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. KEITH, was born May 12, 1863, at Montague Bridge, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He came to Iowa forty-three years ago.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Ada FERTIG May 27, 1893, and made their home in Benton until her death October 15, 1924. To this union were born two children, Chester R. KEITH of Des Moines and Gladys M. CARSON of Benton.

He was converted and became a member of the Lenox Christian church in 1889.

Besides his children he leaves to mourn his going nine grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, John KEITH and Mrs. Martin McKINNON of Montague Bridge, Prince Edward Island, Canada; Clarence KEITH of Winnipeg, Canada; and Mrs. Emma JOHNSTON and Miss Priscilla KEITH of Miami, Florida. A brother and sister preceded him in death.

He was a charter member of Ringgold Lodge, I. O. O. F. No. 570, of Benton, was a regular attendant and will be sadly missed by his brothers. He served as treasurer of the lodge, clerk of the Modern Woodman of America; was mayor of Benton at his death and held other offices of trust. He passed away at his home in Benton Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m., March 27, 1932, aged 68 years, 10 months and 15 days.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian church in Benton, being conducted by Rev. Dennis DILLE, assisted by Rev. J. E. MATHENY, pastor of the Diagonal M. E. church. Members of the I. O. O. F. and Rebekah lodges attended in a body and the beautiful ritualistic service of the order was conducted in connection with the service. Burial was in the Benton cemetery.

NOTE: Sarah Ada (FERTIG) KEITH was born in 1872, and died in 1924 with interment in Benton Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
