OBITUARY - NAOMI ARLENE JOHNSTON

Naomi Naomi Arlene JOHNSTON was born August 29, 1926 at Percival, Iowa, the lone girl among six children born to Riley Fletcher and Ora Eleanor (PADDOCK) McALEXANDER.

In 1941, she moved with her parents to Beaconsfield, IA where she graduated from high school in 1943. She attended CCCC Business College in Des Moines. Naomi worked at Fitches Shampoo Company where she played basketball on their team.

Naomi was active in the Beaconsfield United Methodist Church and spent many years as kindergarten Sunday school teacher, teaching many of her nieces and nephews. If there was a need in the community, Naomi was there. Her nieces and nephews always looked forward to the plate of cookies that Naomi baked for them on their birthdays. Don & Naomi spent many happy hours together on the lake. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May of 2007. Naomi passed away on January 16, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law Marjorie McALEXANDER and LaVara McALEXANDER; and her parents-in-law Vaughn & Mildred JOHNSTON.
