OBITUARY
MARTHA KATHLEEN "GRAN-GRAN"
(CRAWFORD) BOLANDER JOHNSTON

KNOXVILLE, TENN. - Martha Kathleen "Gran-Gran" CRAWFORD BOLANDER JOHNSTON, 97, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in West Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack PENNINGTON officiating. Arrangements are by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel of Knoxville.

Martha Kathleen CRAWFORD BOLANDER JOHNSTON was born February 6, 1910, in the town of Elida, Territory of New Mexico. Kathleen grew up in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and Amarillo, Texas, where she graduated from Amarillo High in 1927. Kathleen married Elmer Thomas "Jack" BOLANDER on Christmas Eve 1928. She and Jack had two children, Jack "C" BOLANDER (retired U.S. Navy lieutenant commander) and Donna BOLANDER (Mrs. Erle P. HALLBURTON Jr.). She married again after Jack's death to her childhood sweetheart, Raymond D. "Si" JOHNSTON of Mount Ayr.

She was active in her youth as a Rainbow Girl and in later years with the Poinsettia Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She helped establish the credit department at HALLIBURTON Oil Well Cementing Co. in Duncan, Okla., where she worked for more than 20 years. She was an active member of numerous houses of worship in her lifetime, the most recent being West Hills Baptist Church in Knoxville.

Kathleen's faith in the Lord was unquestionable and unwavering. Her love of family was everything to her and to us. Her kindness, her generosity, her grace will always be remembered . . . and greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; and a son, Jack.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna; six grandchildren, Jacquelyn PRINCE of Knoxville, Jeffrey Wayne BOLANDER of Virginia, Duncan Martin HALLIBURTON of California, Kathleen HALLIBURTON-ROSS of Virginia, and Jennifer HALLIBURTON-CALDERWOOD and Sara Emily HALLIBURTON, both of California; as well as a gaggle of great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Road, Knoxville, TN 37909; or the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Rd., Knoxville, TN 37919.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
