Abraham JOHNSON died on the 4th of February at his home in Riley township, where he had lived about thirty years. He was
three score and eleven years old. He was born August 2, 1818, in Rock county, Ky. He moved early to Putnam county, Ind.,
and in 1839 married Lucinda WOOD. In 1843 he united with the M. E. church. He came to Ringgold county in 1857 and his house
was both the home and church of the pioneer preachers. He had seven children, five of whom are living. He was burried (sic)
in the cemetery of the New Zion church.
NOTE: Lucinda (WOOD), wife of Abraham JOHNSON, was born in 1819, and died on April 8,
1897 with interment at Mount Zion Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
