OBITUARY - SHIRLEY JACKSON
Shirley Rae JACKSON, 53, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Kellerton, died July 27, 2005, at St. Joseph Medical Center in
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The
Rev. Rick HAWKINS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Maple Row cemetery at Kellerton. Open visitation will be
after 1 p.m. Sunday with family visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed
to the charity of donor's choice.
Mrs. (sic) JACKSON, daughter of Vivian Lou (FIRST) and Herbert Ray JACKSON, was born May 2, 1952, in Mount Ayr. She
graduated from Kellerton High School in 1970, and received degrees from University of Northern Iowa and Graceland College
in Lamoni. She worked as an organizational development analyst for State Farm Insurance.
Survivors include her parents, Herbert and Vivian JACKSON of Pleasant Hill; three sisters, Nancy (husband Rick) BRECHLER of
LeMars, LeAnn JACKSON of Mount Ayr and Julie (husband Andrew) SONKSEN of Fort Dodge; two brothers, Dan (wife Hope) JACKSON
of Kellerton and Doug (wife Candi) JACKSON of Winterset; 11 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

BLOOMINGTON, IL -- Shirley Rae JACKSON, 53, of Bloomington died at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday [July 27, 2005] at OSF St. Joseph
Medical Center, Bloomington [IL].
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home,
Mount Ayr, Iowa. Burial will be in Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
She was born May 2, 1952, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, the
daughter of Herbert R. and Vivian L. (FIRST) JACKSON.
She is survived by her parents, Pleasant Hill, Iowa; three
sisters, Nancy (Rick) BRECHLER, LeMars, Iowa; LuAnn JACKSON, Mount Ayr, Iowa; and Julie (Andrew) SONKSEN, Fort Dodge,
Iowa; two brothers, Dan (Hope) JACKSON, Kellerton, Iowa; and Doug (Candi) JACKSON, Winterset, Iowa; 11 nieces and
nephews; and one great-nephew.
Shirley [a 1970 graduate of Grand Valley Community School, Kellerton] received a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a
Bachelor of Science in computer science from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. She was an organizational development
analyst (ODA) for State Farm Insurance Companies, where she worked for 20 years and held the professional designation of
