OBITUARY - SARAH "ETHEL" (HUNT) JACKSON

Sarah "Ethel" JACKSON, only daughter of Alson Adelbert HUNT and Clara Mariah MOTSINGER HUNT, was born September 14, 1892, in Smith Township of Worth County, Missouri.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. T. Harold CRAIG, June 8, 1984, at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Graveside services were held at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were her nephews -- Amon HUNT, Sanford HUNT, Jubal HUNT, Jerry HUNT, Elvis HUNT and Maurice HUNT.

Ethel married Clifford JACKSON September 21, 1913, in the Presbyterian parsonage in Redding, Iowa. To this couple were born eight children, two of whom preceded Ethel in death -- Mary Faith, who died in infancy, and James Clifford, who died at age 19 after having been struck by lightning.

Also preceding her in death were her brothers, John and Charles, and a grandson, Steven JENSEN.

Family members who remain and mourn her passing include her husband, Clifford; brother George HUNT of Redding; sisters-in-law, Leota ABARR of Sante Fe N.M. and Nellie HUNT of Grant City; children - Evelyn and Victor JAMES of Grant City, Opal BARNETT of Mount Ayr, Dorothy and Wayne JENSEN of San Diego, Calif., Sally and Charles SEDGEWICK of Detroit, Michigan, Delbert and Hazel JACKSON and Joe and Carmetta JACKSON of Grant City, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ethel was a loving mother and a perfect grandmother. She was known for her Christian virtues of generousity and kindness. Her door and her heart were always open. Our community is diminished by her passing.
