OBITUARY - LUTHER "EARL" JACKSON

Luther Earl JACKSON was born on a farm near Grant City, Missouri, on October 30, 1909, and died Wednesday, July 29, 1987, at the age of 77 years. He was the son of Curtis and Carrie MOSBARGER JACKSON.

On June 13, 1936, he was united in marriage to Hazel Mae WAUGH at Grant City, Missouri. To this union seven children were born -- Charles, Wendell, Virginia, Frances, Janet, Carolyn and Linda.

Earl and Hazel farmed in Worth County for over 50 years. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June of 1986. Earl was a member of the Middle Fork Church.

Preceding Earl in death were his parents and two brothers, Floyd and Coin.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel, of Grant City, Missouri; children -- Charles and wife Melba of Clearfield, Iowa; Wendell and wife Joan of Redding, Iowa; Virginia and husband Doyle AUSTIN of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Frances and husband Marvin FINE of Coon Rapids, Iowa; Janet and husband Al DERBY of Security, Colorado; Carolyn and husband Roger SHUPE of Cameron, Missouri; and Linda of Grant City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.

He was a devoted husband, loving father and always enjoyed his grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Prugh-Dunfee Chapel in Grant City, Missouri, on Saturday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Ed KAIL. Interment was in the Middle Fork Cemetery.
