OBITUARY - GEORGE M. JACKSON

George M[ac] JACKSON, son of Sylvester [H.] and Beulah (LESAN) JACKSON, was born July 10, 1864 in Stark County, Illinois, and died January 26, 1947 at the home of his daughter in Sharpsburg, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 15 days. At the age of 9 he moved with his parents to Ringgold County, Iowa, locating on a farm near Ellston.

On December 21, 1884, he was married to Lizzie JOHNSTON, who preceded him in death January 12, 1931. To them were born five children, Mrs. Mary A. FAUROUT of Sharpsburg, Mrs. Bernice E. BROWN of Chicago, Horace, who died September 11, 1928, Paul of Ellston and Guy of Cedar Rapids.

Surviving with the children are two brothers, Frank and Walter of Ellston; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. He united with the Methodist Church at High Point at an early age, later transferring to Ellston, where he retained his membership.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, January 27, at the Methodist church in Ellston, conducted by Rev. A. R. WEED. Burial was in the Ellston cemetery.
