JANICE IRVING DIES SATURDAY

Janice E. IRVING of rural Lorimor, Iowa, died Saturday, October 23 [1982] at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston [Union County, Iowa]. Services will be held Monday, October 24 at the Lorimor Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark HAGY and Chuck WHITE officiating the 1:30 p.m. rites. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mt. Ayr [Ringgold County, Iowa].

Janice E. IRVING was born January 1, 1936 in Osceola [Clarke County, Iowa] to Myron COON and Blanche (GRIMM) COON. She grew up in Murray, attending school there and graduating in 1953. She married Elbert J. IRVING October 11, 1964, in Hopeville, Iowa, and lived in Des Moines until moving to Lorimor in 1973. One son, Kevin IRVING, was born to this union.

Survivors include her parents and one son, Kevin. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

JANICE IRVING DIES - Lorimor

Janice E. IRVING, 46, of Route 1, Lorimor, passed away October 23, 1982 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Mrs. IRVING was born January 1, 1936 in Osceola to Myron and Blanche (GRIMM) COON. She was raised in the Murray area, graduating from Murray High School. She moved to Des Moines until 1973, when she moved to Lorimor.

She married Elbert Jay IRVING in Hopeville, Iowa, October 11, 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lorimor Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Elbert Jay;and one son, Kevin, at home.

Preceding her in death were two brothers.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the United Methodist Church in Lorimor with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr.

Pallbearers were Larry STEPHENS, Carroll LOY, Sam COOPER, Merrill STRUBHAR, Bob NEEDHAM, and John ALLEN. Mrs. Larry STEPHENS was organist, playing "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "How Great Thou Art."

A memorial has been established for the cancer fund. The Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Lorimor was in charge of arrangements.
