Ringgold Record, 1890

OBITUARY.

Mrs. Susie C. HUTCHINSON, whose maiden name was WILFORD, was born in Elkhart county, Indiana, September 6, 1855. Mrs. HUTCHINSON has lived for some time near Mt. Ayr, and was well known. She was esteemed a worthy Christian woman. Her death occurred Nov. 6, 1890, under exceedingly painful circumstances, being caused by morphine administered by herself. She had been in much trouble for some time which probably impelled her to this. The thought that such a deed was wrong seems not to have occurred to her. This may have been due to the state of mind induced by unusual trouble and anxiety.

She left a letter to her husband and children expressing much affection for them and earnest wishes for their welfare. She leaves her parents, brother, sister, husband, and three children.

The funeral services took place Sabbath afternoon at the M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Wm. B. THOMPSON.

COPY OF THE LETTER LEFT
BY MRS. HUTCHINSON

DEAR HUSBAND AND CHILDREN:--

I have not anything to live for in this world, for I am so worried that I know that it will kill me. You can live all right without me. You are getting big. We all much die some time. I am going home to stay. I want you to meet me on the other shore. I give you all to God. He will take care of you all. Trust in him. You have been a good husband and children. I don't want you to think you worry me. I have spent many happy hours with you all, and will again if you be good. Darty, don't swear. Grow up and be a Christian. Don't fight. Think of your mother. I love you all. Go in good company. I want Dartie to have the bed down stairs, and Garfield's picture and the plush album, and girls, you can divide the other things to please you. Give him other things if he wants them. Don't fight. The first of you gets married gets the sewing machine.

Dear father and mother and brother and sister, love to all. So good bye. Trust in God, and it will be all right.

From a loving mother to her loving family. So good bye.

SUSIE C. HUTCHINSON
